Isle of Skye Webcam

Viewers can choose from 4 different angles, focussing on loch, castle, mountain or harbour views specifically - just use the control panel and please be a little patient - depending on the number of users, the camera might take some time to change it's view to your request! You can choose to view the most recent images held in memory.

These are the views that most rooms in our hotel enjoy, including 4 of our 7 bedrooms, both guest lounges and our Breakfast room - we hope you enjoy viewing them just as much across the web!

Our hotel and webcam are located at the south east end of the Isle of Skye, on the harbourside in Kyleakin, the first village after crossing the Skye Bridge. The idyllic little fishing harbour provides a constantly changing scene and during the summer months, the visiting yachts add an extra dimension! The changing tide line (an impressive 22 ft between high and low) increases the interest for viewers and, at the same time, changes the wildlife spotting opportunities. Otters and heron will eagerly hunt for fish & shell fish at low tide in particular, while at higher tides you can potentially see both otters and maybe the odd seal swimming in the harbour area. During the summer months especially, dolphins sometimes pass by the harbour, swimming through Loch Alsh on their hunt for shoals of fish. Seagulls will constantly provide entertainment, fighting over scraps left by the fishermen or shellfish they've discovered in amongst the seaweed & kelp.

At the bottom of the loch (in good visibility!), viewers can see the Kintail Mountains in the very distance and the lights on the shoreline at the end of the loch (particularly visible at night!) is Reraig (by Balmacara) - some 4 miles south of Kyleakin, on the mainland.
